Cake on perlite?
    #541491 - 02/05/02 03:33 PM (21 years, 9 months ago)

Is it ok to put a cake directly on the perlite instead of on the lid of the jar? Thx a lot.

It not worth the risk. Try a square of aluminum foil.

Although its ok to do so, i would recomend a lid or some tin foil under the cakes, since after a while rhizos get into verm , and verm doesnt get off easy, and its a mess when trying to dunk the cakes and stuff, hehe

I never had any problem with it. And it has a few advantages (water absorbtion, and stability of the cake). A tin foil may be a good idea.
