Mushroom help
    #5414804 - 03/17/06 11:34 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

does any one know about what Indiana has in mushrooms. Only hallucinogenic. I get good shrooms that are I believe to be Psilocybe cubensis. Next time I get some I'll have pics :mushroom2: they are usually closed caps and are pretty potent, good frying experiences.

But I'm looking in the wild for some later this year and not sure what grows here, nothing on the locations list. Supposedly the shrooms are just picked off manure locally within 30 miles of here in northwestern Indiana. They do taste like manure or something.

I really need help here, can't afford 35 an 1/8 of an ounce

The only Psilocybe cubensis that grow in Indiana are the ones people cultivate. None in the wild.

Probably the only "shroom" that grows in Indiana are Panaeolus subbalteatus. And they are probably not an easy find.

It could take years, even a decade of searching for Pan subbs in Indiana before you could find them.

I imagine though having lived in Indianapolis that someone with ingenuity, a good eye for good spots, and a spray bottle full of Myc could change that fact, its humid, rains often, and has great incubation/fruiting temps/humidity in the late summer/early fall as well as the later spring.
