well mine sure didn't leech for a month. maybe a week, but it did rain a lot. then the shit dryed out... and i made poo cakes. i htink its ok to use once there is no amonia smell. (pee smell) if it smells earthy your good to go. however aged stuff is better. when it gets all white thats firefang a goooood bacteria.
don't quote me on this but i would think less leached stuff (no amonia but no firefang) is fine when doing poo cakes beucase you are sterilising the poo not pasturizing it. then it is protected from contams from the jar. now when you are spawning to poo you want to use more aged poo beucase it has much more good bacteria (firefang and other) that helps protect it from contamination and you need this beucase you don't have a jar protecting it. this is why we pasturize adn not sterilize. in short less aged poo you arn't killing much by doing poo cakes and aged poo you are using the full potential of the good bacterias.

I would think ud need to be sumwhere close to 24, thats a huge amount of time difference ur talking about. There might be different techs with different times, but i doubt a difference of 12 hrs. But, im a noob, and less experienced than urself, thats just what i thought while reading your post.

Just put the shit in water while you're away or whatever. When you come back, it will have soaked long enough.

waht can work is if you put it under running water like a water hose. that will leach it pretty quick. it wont be optimal, but after you pasteurize it (dont cut time on the pasteurizing) they poo should be good to go.
what ive done twice is soak it in hot water (120f) in a cooler, then i let it dry in the sun (which took a week) then i pasteurized it.
