Problems with grow

So a few days ago I started up my first grow using the Alien Substrate. I couldn't get ahold of any needles, so I used the cooking needles used to inject seasoning into meat, sterilized for 20 mins in the pressure cooker. A couple weeks ago I scraped some spores into a pc'd jar of honey water. I injected some of that into the 4 1 pint jars.
About 3 days latter I checked on the jars and found mold growing all over them . The green type of mold, a lot like you see on bread. Anyway the thing is that the mycelia was growing in all the places that the green mold was. So now I'm trying to figure out what I did wrong for the next batch. One thing is that I cooked up the alien substrate, and then added 2 cups of water to the mix. Well you already have to give water to the rice and quinoa when you are cooking it so I may have added too much, it did feel really wet. Any help would be very much appreciated.

did you use a glove box when scrapping spores into your jars? if you did it in open air then you most likely contaminated your LC jar and then when you injected it into your jars you got both myc and contams.
look up how to make a glove box. you can make a simple one out of a carboard box and some other household items that are esentially free.
also syringes are abouta buck at any pharmacy so go get at least one. its pretty damn important.
then you can inject your LC into jars out in the open and never have to worry about contams. you just use some silacone or cauwking in a hole in the lid inject right through that. also have another hold stuffed with poly fill or taped with mirco spore tape also found at the pharmacy. all this add up to no contams.

Yea I added the water to the jar before I pc'd it.
I'm thinking the contamination either got on the needle when I was inoculating the jars, or into the liquid honey culture jar. I did not use a glovebox for it, so I guess I'll make one.
Is there really any problem with using the cooking needle? It seems to work fine, and holds a lot of spore-water which is great for LC.
