effects of lsd vary greatly from person to person?

A couple friends and I bought half a vial of LSD a few weeks ago. We put drops of it on sugar cubes, and then wrapped them up in foil. They are stored in dark and air tight containers.
Now... 1-2 cubes gives a friend and I a fairly strong trip, however another friend hardly gets any effects except mild visuals and some body sensation.
What could cause this? He's not on any medication, he hasn't used any psychedelics for weeks (so there shouldn't be any tolerance.)
Any ideas?

It has been my experience that every trip varies from person to person. There have been several adventures I went on with our group when all dosed the same amount straight outta the bottle. Some were left stunned and amazed while I or another would be almost completely oblivious to the effects of the mental jackhammer we've grown to know and love. Doesn't sound so unusual to me.

alright thanks for the response. We're gonna try it again in a couple weeks. I'm curious for the results

how accurate was your distribution of the drops? one cube could have more, one less. were they wrapped together, or individually?
besides these points, it is known that the trip effectivenss per MG of RC's varies from person to person, so its possible LSD might be the same way, but the point of one haveing a strong trip and one not getting visuals leads me to think the dosage was not exact

3 hits of LSD one time, can affect me differently than 3 hits of LSD done a few weeks later - even if from the exact same blotter/batch.
The effects can vary from trip to trip, and from person to person. Some people seem to be more senstive to LSD than others, and also other people seem to naturally 'fight' it more than others.
Awhile ago, I was on 3 hits of LSD, as were 2 of my friends.
I have a tendancy to simply 'let go', and let the visuals do their own thing, let my mind wander and not to fight it. As a result - the visual expierence of LSD gets VERY intense and over the top for me.
But, I was talking with my friend while tripping, and she said "she doesnt like to let go like that, so she'll try and stop them" - as a result, even though on the same dose - her trip ends up being less visual as she keeps looking away from things / re-focusing/etc as the visuals start to get to intense.
