1 pint to spawn 10lbs?

So I've got 2 half pint jars colinized right now (still waiting on my quart jars to finish up) and a 10lb bag of straw and poo. I know that the correct colonized substrate to spawn ratio is about 1/10 but am I going to run into many problems trying to spawn a 10lb bag from just a single pint? I will probably need to add some water if the colonization takes too long, but this shouldn't be a problem. What do you guys think, should I go ahead and try this, or just risk contamination and split up the 10lb bag?

i was wondering about that myself........ the ratio that is.......
I'm a newb, so i don't know, but that doesn't seem right. 10lbs of poo for 2 1/2 pints??? that's a LOT of poop.
i just ordered an 8lbs pre-past. bag, and i was thinking more along the lines of 2 (1/2 pint) cakes per pound of poop......
roadkill's tek says "more substrate = faster colonization"
so, i'm not sure, sorry i couldn't be of more help but i'm also wondering about this myself.....

the ratio is UP TO 1:10. most people use 1:5 anywhere high gets less successfull. anywhere above 10 your looking at a poor success rate. the long it takes to colonize the more time invaders have a change to get a foothold. stick to a lower ratio especially when spawning from pf cakes because they don't crumble as well as grain therefor you won't have as many spawn points and colonization will take that much longer.

i don't think 1 pint to 10lbs is gonna work out for you. i used a 1:5 ratio and it's working beautifully.

just make a shit load of extra spawn then mix a crap load in it for faster colonization times i use 5-8 quarts for 10 lbs of poo mixed with some veg oil and 2% worm castings with some verm.
