Shake the jar and let it get all nice and thick, an extra couple days cannot hurt and can only help.

Ps-dont let it go too far or it will solidify and become hard to get out of the jar.

I think thicker the better but that depends for me on how fast the jars colonized.
You can use a spoon to dig it out into a bag and then brake it up.

ive used jars that were just barely covered in white and ive waited till they have thick rhizo all over the place. either way, they spawn pretty quickly. i didnt see a difference in performance on either.

id guess the less conolinzed is a slightly higher contam risk?? i doubt too much though.

When it's comepletely visibly colonized with the 'thin fluffy' stuff for 3 days. The thick, strong stuff is rhyzo and means the myc is looking for more nutrients and/or moisture.
