PC question

ok, so i have a question about PCing the jars with brf and verm mixture in them. from what i have read and asked on this site i have come to the following conclusions regarding jar prep and cooking:
once the jars are full of substrate, i put the lid on them. the lids have 4 holes placed equidistant around the outside, each covered with masking tape. the lid need to be screwed on 'lightly' (so as to allow pressure/air release in the PCing process). then a layer of foil need to be put over the top of the lid to try and stop any water vapour getting in which may throw out the brf/verm/water mix inside.
i tried to do this last night and i noticed after i had PCed them for an hour, then letting cool for an hour, that some water had gotten inside. there was some under the lid and i could see some down the bottom. the lids had been screwed on very lightly so they could be lifted up and down slighty if u tried pulling them up.
my question is, if the lids are supposed to be on so there can be air/pressure exchange... isnt there always going to be water vapour entering through this space?
edit: am i supposed to tighten the lids more? how can i stop this happening?
thanks

Cover the jars in foil before you PC them.
I thought we covered that last night.

don't need lid space use mirco spore tape it breaths but still keeps out contams. that way you can tighten the lids. if you have water inside teh jar but you had foil covering teh tops the you substrate was just too wet. adjust your water content.

"use mirco spore tape it breaths but still keeps out contams"
ah ok, i understand why this is used now. im in australia, so it may be a bit difficult to find... i will try tho
"if you have water inside teh jar but you had foil covering teh tops the you substrate was just too wet. adjust your water content."
before i put the jars in, they looked fine. once i had finished the PCing process it looked a little water logged. there was also condensation drops beneath the lid.
thanks

micro spore tape is sold in the bandaid section of anyplace bigger then a gas station i would assume its teh say in auzzieland. just might be under a different brand name then nexcare don't get the plastic tape or the gause (spel) get the "paper tape" as for water maybe some settled out during the pc. if your foil covers the top and is snug on the sides then no boiling water can jump in. steam is fine. it has no reason to build up though since everythign in the PC will be the same temperature. like i said dry a dryer substrate and cover WELL with foil. not so tight that its air tight but tight so boiling water isn't getting up under the foil onto yur lid and then dropping into your 4 holes.
