Afoaf does BRF/Verm cakes, PCing by using the steamed pot method. For a while he would do the sterile procedures and then innoc and let colonize in shoeboxes under his bed, and in his drawers. His room was 80 , so figured in those areas it would be good. And so everytime he would always get 80% good and 20% contam.
Now he know longer stores them in that location, for he has a T.I.T, and the temp in there is 88. He NOW stacks them ontop of each (jars inside) when in the T.I.T. But ever since the change hes noticed MORE come out contaminated then before.
Nothing has changed but location, processes done right, sterilization correct, and still using same PC method.
What is your opinion on what could be causing the higher amount of contams then normals, given these details?

Lower your temp to 82-85. Some contams thrive at higher temps. Make sure to lysol that TiT out before using it. Maybe you could even let them steam a bit longer.
You've probably heard it before, but just go buy a pressure cooker. I have a small cheap one and I haven't had a contam yet and I'm using WBS. It's worth the $40-$60 plus the peace of mind that you'll have 100% sterile jars if done properly.

his temps are too high. allowing bacteria to thrive. If his temps in the room are 80 then fuck it, thats pretty good, i would just go with that, maybe make a heat bomb to up the internal temp a few degrees to make it around 82-83 or so, remember once those jars get over 50% colonized they will start producing their own heat, and if they are all closely packed together they will start to over heat each other if the temp of they system is kept at the optimium "84 degrees". if you know what i mean, you set the water heater at 84, okay, that works for a bit, keeps things good, but as time progresses all the jars in there start to produce their own heat, and soon enough you have an internal temp of around 89 degrees, well over the optimium temp for mycelium, yet quite wonderful for bacteria.

80 degree house? fuck just leave em there. you can get away with leaving a bunch of jars on your hot water heater modem and router. cover with a blanked adn youd be supprized how high you can bring up the temp. pack tight if u need 10 degrees or more lose if you only want a few.

You can get an 8qt pressure cooker from Sears or KMart for $33. Very cheap and low quality. But they do safely cook with pressure, which is what you need. KMart Pressure Cooker

thanks guys.
so basically, my friend doesnt have no true idea about sterlization with the current PC method. So getting a PC would illiminate all these problems and even allow him to go into the new realm of substrates to colonize on..................Hello wbs.
Hmm ill defiently let him now.
