why is my cake pulling away from the jar?

this has happened before......is it from not using enough water? too high of temps?

I think the mycelium just consumes the BRF and water and the cake shrinks. Mine are doing the same thing.

Yah dude its normal.

It can also happen if you case your jars. Use a tin foil in whatever your case is(EZfoil bread pans work) when the case shrinks after time, it pulls on the tin. this solves side pinning. if you even case :P

It's also beneficial in removing the cakes from the jars. Remember to dunk at birth to replace moisture lost during the substrate run this will also provice a much better flush.
