Puppy play date!! (Lots of big pictures)

On Saturday my friend Nick came over and brought his dog with him. The dog's name is Simon Deathstar, and he's an Italian Greyhound. JacqueCousteau and Sam came over as well, which was awesome, because we hardly ever get to see them, and they're amazing people
Here's some pictures from the day. We let them play inside in our basement, and then outside at our tennis courts for a bit so they could have some open are to play off their leashes. I know I'm incessantly posting puppy pictures, but honestly, they make me smile, and I hope they do the same for others

For a little dog, Simon's got a serious jump!!!

Ahahaha... some great shots of the puppies there!
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love Simon's little ears!
The one of both of them where Simon's ear is folded back, and the one of Suffer holding Lucy are both adorable.

I was just about to send you a PM with a link to the thread. Clearly you beat me to it!! I had such a great time, we need to do that again soon - hopefully we'll both be feeling better too

After you guys left Lucy just stood there looking at the door whining, and then looking back at us like "Where'd they go?"
Then she laid down in the middle of the office floor and slept for like 5 hours
She's not used to any dogs being able to keep up with her seemingly endless supply of energy, but Simon sure as hell did. I guess when you weigh like, 8 pounds it doesnt take much to keep going going

Heh, seriously. They were like little well-oiled machines.

I'm on "cute" overload right now! Those pictures were incredible...dogs existing in a state of pure, boundless joy...it's remarkable to see it captured in a moment of time. Thank you for sharing all the pics...Lucy has a constant endearing expression on her face.
Cool to see pics of Jacque and Sam too.

Ditto.
It's pretty cool that Lucy has play dates. We treat our pets like our kids in modern society and I see nothing wrong with that.

I like real dogs...dogs you can tackle and wrestle with. I would be afraid I'd break that black dog. Labs you can play rough with and that's fun.

Actually, Italian Greyhounds are extremely weather sensitive. They get cold very easily, so you're actually SUPPOSED to put a sweater or something on them if the weather is borderline.
And he is very fragile. Nick stepped on his foot once and wound up giving him a hairline fracture The dog limped for like 2 weeks
Glad you guys enjoyed the pictures

AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
Ok, I did it. I'm good now.
Simon is the cutest tinyest little thing. I've never seen anything like him before, and he sure can jump...all 8 pounds of him. And Lucy girl is getting so BIG! I can't beleive it! She's just growing up so fast....*sniff* At the rate you share your wonderful puppy pictures with us, I feel like I'm actually watching her grow up.
Lucy is so lucky to have you guys loving her and taking such great care of her. So many dog owners just simply co-exist with thier pets, or see them as an inconvienience, and that's kind of sad.

She's about 40 pounds now, it's getting difficult to pick her up and just hold her, though Pete still insist upon carrying her around every once in a while as you can see
She's the best dog, we're so lucky. She's so good natured, and always SO happy, she walks around smiling all day, following us around like just being next to us is the best thing in the world in her eyes
Towards the end of their puppy play date Simon started to figure out that she is very laid back and he could pretty much just attack her and she would do nothing. We were back in the house and she was laying on her back while he bit her throat and shook his head violently...he wasn't hurting her, he's too small to do any damage But still, it makes me happy that she's not even mean when dogs aren't being very nice to her. I want to have kids someday (5 years or so?) and I know that she'll be wonderful around them.
