A question about fresh air exchange during pin development...

Someone said that their best pinsets come from stopping misting/fanning (using a PmP) as soon as pin's appear, and for several days thereafter. But because primordia formation requires a reduction of metabolic gases and low CO2 level, I have continued fanning. I am debating whether to start using my aquarium pump again to increase fresh air exchange by pumping air thru bubble stones into the perlite. As things are, I have 30 gal rubbermaids that I fan manually twice everyday, no more, no less, becasue I'm not home. So my question, will more FAE be beneficial?

If your PmP is built right it is not needed, I open mine once a week just to make sure theres no contams and pick shrooms.

Yes without a doubt as long as the RH stays very high to compensate.

It's my opinion that proper fanning gives killer pinsets. My setup consists of purely PMPs. My outlook on it is - if you can open and fan every two hours, it will be more beneficial than opening and fanning every six hours; granted you can keep the RH 100% in both instances. Fanning is key in a PMP setup, in my opinion. Note that this is with a constant 100% RH variable, which will drop to below 100% invariably each time you fan (if you're fanning correctly). Ceteris paribus, fanning is key in PMP, is all I'm saying.

PMP are pumping in fresh air also so RH should not be 100%. I totally agree optimum FAE's along with all other parameters being optimal gives one the best odds at the best pinset possible depending on the substrains potential of course.

Yeah ~ sorry about that. Didn't realize that the defacto PMP has pumps. I don't use any electronics to incubate, keep RH, fan, dry, etc.
