Mind-Growing Pains

Well, we all know that everyone here loves to expand their minds, and that no one likes upset stomachs (especially in the middle of a full blown shroom trip). So I have a question to you shroomers out there. Is there any sure; written in stone- way to take care of the upset stomach/nausea that is so common from shrooms? I though pepto-bismal (spl?), wasn't too sure about tums, or maybe some stomach calming drinks or foods. I'm sorry to seem so noobish, but I've never heard of a way to make sure that you'll avoid it. If you have any methods that you trust, just post them here. Our digestive systems thank you.

I find that there is no real way to 100% reduce it. You can minimize it, and some times - you will get lucky and have no neasua at all. But, now and then - it will come no matter what you do.
Some suggestions to help reduce/minimize (and if your lucky, eliminate) the stomach problems.
1. Fast for a few hours before hand, and then eat something light with the mushrooms (some recomend just pure fasting, find what works for you)
2. Make it into a tea, and dont eat the solid material
3. Weed
4. Ginger - you can find ginger at most healthfood stores as a tea, in caps, or as a powder that you can cap yourself. Ginger is great for reducing stomach upset in general - not just while shrooming
5. I find at times with mushrooms - I can get /very/ gasey, take something that reduces stomach gas and this can help also.
Some times I get neasua, some times I dont - seems pretty random when I get it. When I do get it, I've found nothing 100% helps - but the above can help reduce it.
And, if all else fails - drink alot of fluids, and force yourself to vomit. If its been an hour or so since you've eaten the mushrooms - chances are if you vomit, you wont be losing any potency from the trip.
Drink some fluids so you have alot of material to come up (Dry heaving sucks), and vomit - while the actual vomiting may feel horrible, it will help you feel MUCH better once you are done.
It feels like a physical, mental and spiritual purge - get all the bad gunk out, and better prepare you to let the good stuff in.

tea for sure.
i haven't read up on extracting psilocybin/psilocin from mushrooms for a couple of years, i read it on mycotopia a long time ago, but the procedure seemed fairly simple and you were left with a powder, i believe. people there claimed it the greatest thing they'd ever done and would never consume another mushroom again.

i don't think you should take pepto bismol with the mushrooms, i doubt that will have a positive outcome.

I find if you grind them up real nice into a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and then have a couple nice bowls through the comeup it helps a lot. But to each his own, you need to try out different things until you find what works for you. I think its something about the thickenss of the peanut butter with the absorbtion of the bread that keeps my stomach from churning to much.

I've never had a problem with nausea. Sometimes my stomach just plain feels weird on shrooms or hurts.

Being nervous doesnt help the stomach problems. The reason anything with peanut butter would work so well is because your body just wont absorb the mushrooms as quickly(less anxiety). SO you might have a little bit less of an intense trip but you wont get as sick, and If you eat with the shrooms, the inherent, longer digestive process makes the shrooms more subtle but they last longer.
I have never had one bit of a problem with getting sick. 6 grams did make me trip so hard that my body reacted by wanting them out. That feeling had alot to do with anxiety though. That feeling was over in 5 min. Letting any chunk of chewed mushrooms filled with alkaloids sit in one part of your stomach can be kind of sickening. Id recommend eating it with small amounts of bread and water over about 10 min. time. It wont slow the absorbtion much, but it will space out the shrooms a bit within your stomach. This method is simple, and works with HBWR, morning glory, and even ayahuasca(La Purga)...

I've always eaten my shrooms on peanut butter sandwhiches, or if I'm impatient, I make one slice of bread with peanut butter/shrooms and fold it in half, and avoid the crust this way too. With this method I've never once felt nausea while on shrooms or during the comeup, although I have thrown up the next day after sleeping before. There's always some stomach... tightness, I guess, but no sickness.
