I read in the PF Tek that Pf style jars like "natural water- as in spring, swamp, ground, etc..) Has anyone tried this with WBS? Also, could I add moist vermiculite(10-20% by volume) to my WBS quarts before PCing to make it colonize faster? I know its prolly stupid, but I cant find any info on it.
thanks

girl ninja tried this option out. Look up her growlog and see the results for yourself, they speak millions on this idea.

I just read somone post 2 days ago, where they used pond water, now half of that persons jars are contaminated. Roadkill commented in the post saying "pond water didnt work out huh" like he knew it wouldnt.

Oh and all water is natural Ive never seen synthetic water before.

In reference to your second question, I found that adding verm to WBS does wonders. I added about 5% by volume, and every jar showed dense colonization where the verm bunched up, before most of the grains even got touched by myc.

I used to advocate for the use of natural spring water (refering to bottled water that you go buy a couple gallons of), however, i now don't think that makes a noticable difference. I now use well water from a large limerock ridden aquafer.

happy trails

I guess I should've rephrased the question.
Can I use ground water or swamp water? I usually use spring water (from a bottle)
And has anyone done this with WBS with success?
I keep looking for girl ninja's posts, but I can't find them....
thanks

Go to user list, go to page 15 or so of G's and look for GirlNinja, select view all posts by this user, and you'll find that when she used pond water nothing good came of it, at all.

Take a look at some swamp water or standing surface water in a kids microscope. That will answer your question.
You can only use it 'PRE-PC'.

To me it would be like taking some bottled water, adding a few 10's of thousands of bactera/fungi/other microscopic organisms, and dumpin' 'er in! Their can't be a more direct route of adding bad stuff.
