Sterilization ability of ammonia?

My spray bottle is currently filled with a mixture of about 9 parts windex to 1 part 90% isopropyl alcohol. While I'm confident that ammonia is nice and toxic, I don't know about it's spot-sterilization abilities. Can it quickly sterilize a surface? I'd really rather have to avoid refilling the bottle with alcohol, purging the spray pump, etc.
Source of ammonia is windex btw. Not just ammonia, but certainly a decent concentration of it. Enough to be a very convenient pesticide.

It's not coming into contact with anything that is to be ingested. I just want to use it for sterilizing inoculation sites, needles, gloves, etc.

Ammonia will not sterilize anything. Alcohol is the recommended surface disinfectant. Some use lysol, but remember lysol is 80% alcohol and perhaps ten times the price of buying alcohol at the local drug store. To clean your table, just pour it out of the bottle, then wipe with a paper towel. Save the expensive windex for windows. RR

Righto... laziness will not pay off in this case then. Time to dig out the alcohol.
Oh how I loathe working in a room filled with alcohol vapors. Even my ventilator mask doesn't help very much. Since they're vapors, and all.

Don't fill a room with alcohol vapors. You're asking for an explosion. Alcohol is a surface disinfectant, not intended for the air. Get Oust or spray with a ten percent bleach solution if you are trying to reduce airborne contaminants. RR

I'm just referring to whatever vapors wind up evaporating from when I wipe down surfaces with alcohol. Trust me, I understand the risks of flammable vapors and explosions. I wouldn't knowingly fill a room with gas just waiting to conflagrate.
I'm in no hurry to win any darwin awards

Oh yes, I know. I'd love a HEPA filter. I just don't have the money for it. I have MANY hobbies, and they all compete for money
I'm content with my success rate just using disinfectant. I rarely ever get contams. Seriously, it's pretty damn rare for me.
