best rH for straw casing
    #539330 - 02/03/02 03:58 PM (19 years, 9 months ago)

Is 92 too high humidity for straw casing? the humidity was looking really low and so it all got sprayed and put on a cool mist. the temp is about 70, it is pre-pinning stage. also, are small water droplets very bad? they seem very slow to evaporate and i've wondered what they signify. the air circulation is good.

My wombat doesn't think that should be too high. It could be a little lower for a staw casing like 85 but it shouldn't matter all that much. let us know how it works out.

The humidity until you see the pins should be high, 95-100%, after the pins are visible lower it to around 90%.

oh, how bad are the droplets for pin formation? i could tell it was dry yesterday so sprayed it down. i figured it would be good to raise the humidity. i think the droplets are just residual from spraying h202 water, but they could be condensation. it is a cool temp but apparently not too cold for pin formation and fruiting.

Annos right about the humidity. Best results seen by keeping any casing at a high humidity at first. After that, lower the humidity to 85% to avoid contams and increase evaporation which speeds growth.

Water droplets aren't a problem as long as there isn't too much H2O2 in them and they don't damage the structure of the casing. You don't want to "pan" the casing...wash it out....turn to mud etc.

I think your good for now, just don't forget to drop that humidity after you see pins.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

well i think its in the ballpark, i dont know if the the gauge is right, it may need calibration. it reads 68(degree F) and 92 rH. over 92 is practically dripping.
