Not saying I'm gonna act like an asshole or anything, but the day we get paid for this will be the day I start treating this like a job, I have a job already, fuck that. I already find myself checking what I say and not saying things I would have normally. I come here to have fun too.
If that's the way you feel then why not step down from your position in the "community" forum? What I'm asking you is, why do you choose to moderate if you cannot keep your emotions in check? Why not just be a member so you don't have to worry about it? Being a moderator of a forum you should be able to keep a level head and hold no personal agenda regarding certain members.
edit: Just responding to your post, nothing personal, you've always been cool. However... a reply to the questions would be nice, it'd also be nice if LF would answer those same questions.

sorry if this seeems like butting in, but
1 I've enjoyed the pub more than anyother section of this board so far.
2 I'm a moderator on a rather large forums as well, and modding is a hard job, not jus cause you have to remain objective, and you have to enforce the rules (which stoners [here] and occultists/conspiracy buffs [mine] by nature hate,) but also b/c you have to temper your post everytime...everything one writes, b/c of that name color gets taken with extra weight, or ethos to use the rhetorical turn

I like the pub because it has a very relaxed attitude, but not to the point where people are general pricks.

Why do you post here? Why don't you post here? Tell me what you love, what you hate, what you would like to see differently. Tell me your gripes and concerns.
Don't forget to be respectful, tho. I know there are a lot of people out there with strong or negative opinions, and I want to hear those too, but in this thread; you must respect the rules of the pub.

I can't believe how much this place has changed in the year since I've been here! The flood of new people is crazy, but that's what this place is about. I enjoy the Pub, but I'm not an avid poster here. In fact, I don't really post anymore period. My sense of humor and gregariousness isn't quite the same online as it is irl
It's neat how so many personalities and nationalities converge in this one room. Each person has something unique to offer, a glimpse into many different lives around the world. Noobs are apart of the action and growth of this place, too. As much as I want to flame them sometimes, we all started out somewhere...
The moderators do seem to do a fine job here. I have noticed some discrepencies on how certain people/posts are handled, but in reality that's how real life runs. It's all about the perception. Each person has a different POV, and it's sometimes very difficult to convey that through text. The Pub isn't a utopia, as much as this drug culture would like it to be.
Through the Pub, and also through another forum, I've met some truly wonderful people. For that I am forever grateful

Ok, now throughout the course of this thread, there is one major theme: inconsistency. My summary of all this is that in general, most people are genuinely happy with the way things pan out in here except that there are inconsistencies with certain rules, certain members, and certain moderators.
I can't promise change, because that's beyond my control. What I can promise you is that I truly want to see our team of moderators work for everyone and not against them. That takes a lot of respect coming from both sides. I'd like to try and extinguish the whole us vs. them mentality. I don't know how realistic that is, but I guess we'll find out.
Thank you to everyone who voiced thier feelings in this thread. I don't want people to be afraid to speak up in fear of a ban...that's so NOT what this place is all about, and if that is how you feel...well then there is the problem right there.

Certainly.
Some mods feel bad that most members are aware of biased/inconsistent moderating, and would like to change things for the better. Unfortunately, all mods are different, and this will never happen as long as things remain the same. Also, there is no consensus on what measures may alleviate some of the problem.
Oh, and this thread was meant to form a list of dissenters so they can be hurried along the path to PERMAland. And Allah is great.

I've learned that there are a lot of people out there who feel invalidated because of unfair treatment. I can symphasise with that.
I'm still not too sure what the next step is helping the Pub grow and still making it a welcome, friendly enviroment for as many different people as possible. Maybe there isn't anything at all that can be done? I don't think that is the case, however.
I'd like to hear a few other summaries, disagreements or suggestions. This thread isn't about what I think...it's about what everyone else thinks.
