Having my first Ayahusca in a few days time, any tips?

I shall soon receive the ingredients to make my first Ayahuasca. Have done a far bit of research and the brew i've decided on is as follows:- 28g Caapi vine and 20g viridis leaf (both dry) brewed on low heat for 6-8 hrs. This seems like a good mix from all reports I've read. Also, although i intend to have a 'pure' trip the first time, anyone have any experience of mixing ayahuasca with mescaline? (either pure or fresh) If so i would like to know how it went, as i'v heard that this is sometimes done by some tribes for a 'astral travelling' trip. Eitherway, looking forward to it very much!!! People say to take it easy your first time, but my money is not feeling anything with 20g viridis. Prove me wrong, hopefully?

LOL... i hope so too! May take more as i have been taking pychadelics for 14 years now and have taken(smoked) pure DMT. I shall make 3 'portions' just in case. Maybe i'll start with 30g... i'm not afraid of a hard trip. In fact i would possitvley enjoy it! Any recommended doses for a trip veteran such as myself? Also I have found that Ketamine brings out the visuals supperbly with pychocybin, but have been having trouble getting hold of it recently, so haven't tried it with mescaline. Has anyone else tried this mix? (or experienced the shroom and k mix) It was one of the most visual shroonm trips i've had, but other less experienced tripper's that joined me that day found it a bit much for them. Partially due to a particually strong batch of Mexicans!!! I have never got so hammered on just 25-30g before and doubt i ever will!!! lol Also comfortable and numb feelings of k were extreemly pleasent mixed with the shrooms!!

Well the site ayahuasca is good for preparation notes. You want to put some acid in the water. Why? Well the water they use down thier in the traditional areas is more acidic, which aids the seperation of the good stuff into the water. Citric acid is good, or you can get food safe acids from a brewery website. The Hummingbird tech should still be on the aya site. You need about 70 grams of psychotria virdis leaves. Also don't waste your time caapi. It costs too much, and potency varies. Syrian rue seeds are way easier to use. You need 5-10 grams, grind it, put in it capsules and down it 30 minutes before you drink the virdis tea.

Well you puke pretty damn hard, the longer you can hold it in until then the better. I would say use 40 grams of P. Viridis, but all leaves are usualy different in their alkaloid content.
A nice tip for ayahuasca is to use a quart jar, get some boiling hot water with the right amount of acid, I use phosphoric, but I assume you will use lemon juice, pour it in the quart jar, then load in your aya herbs (you are grinding them right?), then seal it, when it cools it will form a vacuum seal which I guess helps break down the cell walls of the leaves so the alkaloids can escape easier then let it sit in the fridge for a week to a month. The liquid will turn into a very beautiful dark amber color with the herbs sitting on the bottom, strain (leave as much of the herb on the bottom as you can) and simmer the liquid until it evaps down into a reasonable amount (about 3 or 4 gulps is what i like), cool and drink. Its a very clean way to do it, and it doesnt taste half bad either. Though with p. viridis the amount of leaves will fill the jar up fast, you can brew 1 or 2 doses in one quart jar but no more than that, root bark can go much farther.
But you can always do the quick and dirty boil and strain method which works also. I just like mine a clean amber color, with much less nastiness.
I have a jar sitting in my fridge that I brewed up in january, I know I will never drink it, aya scares me sometimes, it either likes me or it doesnt. I guess it will be there for sentimental puposes, though i was thinking of usuing it to moisten up some subtrate some day... could be interesting.

shriek - Thanks for posting the link.
DrJ - welcome I've had a couple dreams before and the only advice I'd suggest would be to sit around a fire if possible. Enjoy.

You made a brew and it didn't get infected with bacteria? I guess you brewed it hot and then stored it right away?

Oh come on, drinking aya and holding it down is a WALK IN THE PARK COMPARED TO CACTUS TEA. Man it is way easier drinking these tea's then doing a crapload of oxy or coke for days.

I always found the nausea from standard huasca wasn't worth the trip. It was only when I got into doing an extract on syrian rue and an extract on mimosa and only having to take 2 capsules instead of a tea that the nausea vanished.

I have drunk some pretty rough brews before, not only cactus, but welsh liberty caps too. They're so bitter, nothing can hide that taste!!
I'm sure i'll be fine, but thanks for warning, will post to say how it went.

I know how to make an alkaloid extraction for DMT and mecaline. Would same extraction work for a MAOI plant (ie. b. caapi)?

Extraction from syrian rue is even simpler. There's the manske vinegar extraction or the HCL one. Mix 25 powdered rue with 750ml with 30 drops of HCL. Put it in a glass container, microwave till hot (not boiling) let stand for 24 hours, filter off the sludge, boil down to a small amount then evaporate off the rest. Should have reasonably pure harmine/harmaline.
Easier doing this with rue than caapi as powdering caapi can be a pain!

Ahh..ok easy enough, shredded caapi should work better though, i assume. What about all the toxic shit in rue? Does this get rid of some of that shit? Will try it.

i found mescaline tea to be much easier than aya. maybe its the rue/mimosa cuz thats what i used, rather than maybe your talking about caapi/viridis.
