Heres a strange thing thats been happening to me. Every day, at least once, if not more, when I look at a clock it's 11:11. Usually AM cuz I'm more likely to be in front of a clock then. But sometimes at night also. Sometimes I'll see it on my computer at work, then go to another computer later and because the clocks are set differently, I'll see it again. One day I saw it a total of 4 times! This has been going on for a few months. It's not the first time that this happened to me either. For awhile about 10 years ago, anytime that I looked at a clock, it would be XX:49. 11 minutes til the hour. Then it stopped and a few years later it would always be either 11:11 or 1:11. I was kinda freaked out, thinking something bad would happen to me either november or january 11. Then it stopped. Now it's happening again. Does anyone have any ideas or experience about this? I'm not very superstitious but have ruled out coincidence at this point. I don't know if there's any significance with the number 11 or no.
Also, after the time daylight savings time change, for 2 or 3 weeks, I would look at the clock at 10:11, which normally would have been 11:11. Weird.

Sometimes when I look at the clock, it says 4:20. Weird eh?

that's funny... that's my girlfriends thing. she's been catching 11:11 for a couple years now. sometimes i would notice before she would. after i would noticed i'd just start watching her and where her attention is going and she would always catch it and say something to me.

"meanigfull coincidence" = Synchronicity. Read up on it, I'm not in a position to explain it intelligibly right now, but Jung coined the term. At a therapy session his patient was relating a story that involved a butterfly, at that moment Jung looke out the window, and there was a butterfly there. This incident happened to help the patient with her issues. I think that's how the story goes.
I saw the number 23 a lot some time ago. I induced it deliberately though. Sort of an excercise in controlled synchronicity. Anyway, when I looked for it, I saw it. Lately I see it all the time. A lot.
It can be explained by selective awareness. You notice something and become fixed on it, so you are more prone to notice it again. Like new words you hear. At least I tend to hear a new word many times directly after I heard it for (what I think is) the first time. Maybe Iv'e never noticed it before.
It's an interesting phenomenon, wether you look at it like a divine message, synchronicity, or selective perception. It raises questions about our consciousness/mental perceptions/filtering functions of the brain.

THANKS FOR THE LINKS!.
I had no idea that anyone else would even know what the hell I was talking about. But it seems that I have some reading to do about this. My friends at work thought that I was crazy til i started pointing out the 11:11's when I saw them. If anyone else has any knowledge about this I'd be happy to hear it.

My interpretation of this is that it is just another way of saying that you (can) become more aware that ther are non-causal connections in this world. So many different ways to see things. Nothing but interpretations, interpretations, interpretations. (say that 10 times fast!)

Maybe you should change your clock time, and then see if it reoccurs. I use to have my clock set at different odd times that were not associated with any country, so that when i looked at the clock, I'd be like damn it's five thirty, but where?

I seem to have 4:20 programmed in my brain too. But it is weird that you say that, because every single time (50+ or so) my other personality has taken mushies he has happened to look at the clock at 11:11.

I posted elsewhere that this has been happening to me with the number 222. It is usually 2:22 AM or PM. 11:11 is also frequent, but usually on a clock, whereas 222 turns up as an order number at Taco Bell - with a $4.44 price on the same order; or as a room number, or on my odometer, etc. The only response I get from people is 'play the lotto.' I really wonder why I should wake up in the middle of the night at 2:22, or glance at my watch at that minute.

it seems certain numbers carry a history of their own... i believe there is deeper meaning behind numbers
as for synchronicities i think i notice them more when i am psychologically charged. well nowadays don't appear much, but for a period of time (when, i have to admit, i was continuously stoned) i used to notice coincidences a lot more. i don't recall having a particular persistent one though.
the thing with the new words happens also to me, i have noticed it since i was a kid

Wow this shit blows my mind.This has been happening to me for quite some time but for me its 111.But its not just the clock its everything, lotto jackpots, gas prices,time left on a track on a cd,number of bullets I have left on a video game... the list goes on.At first I passed it off as a coincidence but as it got more frequent (4 to 5 times a day)something would click in the back of my mind like all this means something,what I have no idea. But its good to see I'm not the only one experiencing this.
By the way all this started to happen after an intense ego-loss trip.

I find this post to be quite awesome, in that I have experienced this same 11:11 for that past decade or so. When I was a child, a friend of mine and I made this sorta like club thing like kids do, and we each had our own nicknames and passwords. Anyone, to the point, he asked for my password and I told him to hang on while I went to go use the exact time on the only digital clock he had.
As youve probably guessed the time was 11:11 AM. And ever since then I've noticed this time coincedentially(?) several times, and I'm always reminded of the childhood experience I encountered with my best friend.
Very profound.
BTW, the lyrics in the Tool song refer to Maynard [the singer of Tool(duh)] as a child. "Eleven" is sort of simile for Maynard at age eleven.

heres what you need to do!
get all the clocks you have control over, set them all to 4:20 and them take out the batteries. nothing makes you happier than seeing that number all the time.
on the other hand, i cant believe no one mentioned the 11:11 wish....when you look at the clock, and its 11:11 your suposed to make a wish! this is widely know by many people that dont know each other, so its not like a little group of peoples thing....i cant believe no one metioned it.

i think what happened was his mom died when he was eleven at it was a period of change for him. i'm fairly positive
