Snatch this pebble from my hand, grasshopper
    #5395321 - 03/13/06 02:07 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Ever witness a real expert, the kind of guy who not only is a master of his craft, but makes it look ridiculously easy? Sometimes watching someone like that in action just makes me laugh in appreciation. It's almost comical when someone makes a difficult process seem so effortless.

So allow me to express my appreciation to two people: Agar, you amaze me. Not only do you speak authoritatively and clearly on the breadth of cultivation topics, but you seem to have a picture or illustration at hand for all those topics. I frequently see you answer questions with little or no text at all, only pictures. On other times, you write detailed reports that really explain a subject You are a master.

Musher_420, you seem to maintain a cross-reference index for all of shroomery.org in your head. Nearly every post you make includes a link to one or two relevant discussions, and I haven't seen you bitching at people about using the search engine. Your signature, for crying out loud, links off to about a dozen excellent guides and threads.

Anyway, I just wanted to express my admiration to two people whose writing has really helped me here.

Tengu

I too have noticed Agar seems to have the ability to say very much even when saying very little.

That's why I probably quote or reference HIS links most of the time. Roadkill would probably holding second place. But I'd hate to try to start naming off all the people who have made excellent contributions to this forum cause I'd be hear all day. Stick around tho and you'll quickly find these folks.

I do love links. I could sit and retype a basic summary of all the info I have learned. Or with two or three clicks I could send to person to the exact place I learned that info.

The FAQ and search engine are great tools. But I can understand how a person can feel a little overwhelmed with all this info. That's why if someone comes in with specific questions and looks like they've done there homework I don't mind spending a few minutes to pass some great info along.

When someone comes onto the forum and says:
So mushrooms can get up fucked up eh? WHOA How do I grow em and where do I get the seeds?.....

That's when it's time to tell them to "UTFSE"

Agar, Roadkill, RodgerRabbit, FooManShroom, HippieChick (I have faith she will return in time....I hope), Anno, Hyphae, Magash (sorry I forgot you man I feel guilty since I am using your Rye Tek lol)....

We have an amazing collection of hobby mycologists here, some more godlike than others true (worships her Agar petri dish in an barbaric sacrificial ritual *jk*) but all in all the collection here is a collective, the shroomery is the mycelium that supports all us little shroomerites, we have some amazingly strong colonies, as well as some fast growing (learning) colonies, all in all the Shroomery and what it brings to us all is amazing.
