Hello all, this is my first post here at the shroomery. Let me start out by saying that everything I have seen so far looks awesome and I have already fallen in love with this place Now I have a question regarding brf and verm. I couldn't find any info on it so if I missed something I apologize for posting a topic which has already been covered. If this is the case please post a link to the other post. Anyways, I was wondering if you could create a brf/verm mixture the same way you would for cakes, but just put the substrate directly into a container used for casing and then inoculate. So itd be just like a cake but in the shape of a casing layer. This would be more convenient I would presume. Also, if this is possible, would it increase yields like casing does? Any help on this would be greatly appreciated, also I don't know how well I explained my question so if it doesn't make sense sorry lol just lemme know and I'll clear it up. Thanks a lot everyone.

It would be more prone to contams, if you want to case cakes, remove them from the jar when colonized and crumble them then case it...
I have done casings without crubling cakes and just setting the cakes side by side..

You should look into grains. They are easy to do(If you have a pressure cooker) and are great for casings. I haven't heard anything about making BRF a straight casing like that, but I doubt it can be done. If you're really looking for more potent, and more yeild, I would read up on Wild Bird Seed or rye. Then spawn either one of those to some poo

Yes, you definitely DO NOT want to put subsrate into a casing pan and inoculate. It WILL get contaminated. there's a 80-90% chance you will have more problems with that method rather than take the time to put it into some jars.
There's a reason why people inoculate jars instead of casings.
JARS are almost 100% SURE FIRE way to prevent contaminations!

You can do that but it's not worth it. The PF tek is famous for being simple. If you want to do something interesting start reading here.
