Size of plants / pots.

Hello,
I've looked a great deal of places for information on growing poppies indoors. I have all of the information I need with the exception of the container sizes. I've located some information about Giganthecum indicating they can reach sizes of 6 - 8 cm in diameter and 3 - 5 feet in height. Would anyone happen to know how large a Papaver Somniferum Poppy gets? Will a 1.5 qt pot suffice to get them healthily through their entire lifecycle? If not, could you suggest a more adequate pot-size please?
Any and all advice is sincerely appreciated - thank you for your time.

I highly doubt that a 1.5qt pot will be enough. If you want a nice, large (higher yeild) plant... Everything I seem to remember reading says to give them 1 gallon pots per plant.
Guess you better get to drinking some milk

FAQ :: Growing :: How much space does a poppy need?
Ideally, you should try to give each plant as much room as you can. Roots should have at least a foot, preferably more, of soil depth. Plants should also be spaced a minimum of a foot apart for best results, and to prevent their root systems from intertwining. You don't want them to have to compete too hard for nutrients, so planting them too close will likely cause underdeveloped plants. But if you're working in a small area, then so be it. You just have to work with what you have.
also you might want to know this:
FAQ :: Growing :: Lighting and Photoperiod for Indoor Growing For Papaver Somniferum varieties, it is best to use HID lamps (HPS or MH). A 1000W can shed ample light to grow a 12ft by 12ft area. HIDs get hot so you may need to cool the room or find a plant that grows in a warm climate.
Photoperiod for germination and the vegitative "cabbage stage" should be 12/12 (12 hours on; 12 hours off). To force flowering use an 18/6 or 24/0 photoperiod.
^^ i boldet the important part here, they are exact opposite from cannabis in their photoperiods.
best strain for indoor cultivation is persian white or blue.
