Where can you buy tyvek? I want to use it as a "lid" or sorts. Im going to put it on top of the jar with string or something holding it tight against the opening. When pressure cooking i will have tinfoil over it and then take foil off when im done. ANy ideas where to buy this material?

I got a 10'x25' sheet of tyvek off ebay for 5.99 beats going to the post office a million times.
Shipped it cost me 8.99.
Not too shabby, I'm gonna roll it up and pc the shit ouf ot it, then store it in a large tupperware bin and sterilize with alcohol after each cut. (the piece not the whole)

<---Sterilization freak, would rather be extra careful than extra sad when I got an infection. yues it would be sterilized in the pc, but what can a swab down hurt. Nothing.

I've only had to pick up tyvek once. A handful of those envelopes will do a dung load of jars. Going to the post office doesn't bother me cause I'm usually there to get my mail couple times a month anyways.
You really don't have to worry about PCing that tyvek before hand. Just use it as it came. It will get sterilized with the rest of your jars.

This is great!!! Never realized it was free lol. I also did a little experiment, not so much an experiment but last ditch effort. I had a cake that dried out, not much moisture left at all.... i had left it unintended in a container that leaked and didnt have ANY moisture for quiet sometime. I was going to go burry it then i realized i should just put it in some manure. I took a 2 liter bottle, cut the top off where it begins to get small. I filled manure 1/2 way, then put in cake, put in manure around it and a 1/2 inch on top. 4 days later thick white has covered the entire surface!!! Im going to let it flush once, then take it out and dump it into a big hole. So there can be a outdoor patch, and to see if there were any contams in the inside of the kit (a little paranoid).

Hi. You can buy hard or soft Tyvek, by the yard, at Joggles.com. They are an art supplier. It is about $6 - $9/yd. The hard Tyvek is the type used in envelopes, the soft kindis thinner, and more like fabric. Happy Shrooming! - Ann
