My job sucks

I never had a better job.
I love doing what I do. I work witha bunch of friendly happy people that I get along with 110%. They pay me much more than I think I deserve, yet they feel that I am an asset. For the first time ever, I love spending time at work.
But the downside. This is all just my immediate co-workers and boss/his boss on the corporate level. They piss test, and there is no way to get around it.
I have only had 1 random since I worked there, but when you get selected, they find you wherever you are, and escort you to the bathroom, and watch you 100% of the time. They are fucking Nazi's about it. I passed my first test with frozen urine..but I knew when I was to be tested...and I was lucky to be clean for the first random.
I just wanted to express my anger about this situation...I cannot prepare, or do anything..as they are random...and to have a sack of urine strapped to your leg every day would suck... :P
I guess some people can say it is for the best, and I could agree...but I dont smoke that much pot anyways, and I think that I deserve to indulge on the weekends, and holidays...and its no ones business.
Sooooo sad.
I am gonan be pretty sad when they fire me cause of a failed drug test. They will re-hire though, no sooner than 6 months. Guess that option is out.

What I put into my body is no concern of theirs. All I'm required to do is WORK for them. If my job is getting done in an effecient manner, what the fuck should they care what I do in my spare time!? It's an invasion of privacy and it's preventing people from getting decent jobs. Some of the world's most reputable figures smoke marijuana and make millions. I'm just trying to land a $13/hr job to support myself but I can't because some company doesn't like me sitting in my locked room with some friends, putting plant matter into a glass pipe, and sucking it into my lungs when I'm not even on their fucking time clock! GOD.

Although I agree with you, I will play the advocate... As an employer, I put a lot of money (training, insurance, etc) into my employees and see them as an investment. I want employees that are going to be loyal and that are going to be around for a long time. This is how I get a good return on my investment. If my employees participate in activities that are likely to damage their ability to perform their job, then they are taking a risk with my investment. As an owner of a company, I have the right to set limits on what my employees are doing, even away from work, to ensure/protect the future of my company. If they don't like it, they can work somewhere else.

I agree with Seuss here. That is obviously the reason they do it, and hell I cannot really blame them. So many people ruin it for everyone else. I dont think its the pot that causes problems, but the personality, and that personality happens to be drawn to smoking herb.
I know lots of pot heads that show up every day, and work their asses off.
But then there is the fool who will do fine for a while, and then not show up, and get caught at the fishing dock smoking pot instead of at work :P
I wish they just had a better way of screening employee's.

I see no reason how pot and shrooms would effect the way somone works. If somone has a serious problem with strong drugs your going to see it in there aprearance and perfomance. Then you can act acordingly. aka fire them.

an old friend of mine failed one of the drug tests that you speak of, and got fired. he then proceeded to collect unemployment, and when the company found out after a week or three, made a huge stink and provided proof he was a nasty druggy stoner. the best part is my friend ended up with a paper from the state employment office saying that failing a drug test was no reason to deny unemployment claims. he collected for a year and a half off that, something around 1200 a month, from a $12 an hour job.

Drug tests for work are just bad logic. If drugs are messing me up enough to hinder my performance, then my performance will be hindered. I know plenty of people who smoke lots of weed and do other drugs and are top performers in their workplace. Are you saying they shouldn't have been hired?

i think the tests should only be administered if an employer suspects that his employee is under the influence of a drug while on the job.

I agree with what you are saying 110%. The only time an employer should piss test is if your work is affected by the use of something like a drug. If they have reason to believe that you are under the influence, or if you are involved in an accident at work that was YOUR fault. Invasion of privacy is right! This should be ended.

I'm lucky enough to have smoked with my boss on multiple occasions, but of course that's the exception. I respect a workplace where people can do that yet still be professional and efficient on the clock.
Of course, you're lucky to have a job you love.

First question. Do you live in the US? If not disregard anything I say. What exactly do you mean by "they watch you %100 of the time"? Do they actually watch the urine come out of your penis or stand behind you at a urinal? I'm almost certain if you live in the US this is illegal. You can only be directly observed if you are getting court ordered drug tests or have a history of failing or trying to tamper with the test (IE using something other than your own piss). Otherwise they have to give you privacy, at least a stall with the door closed. I'm no lawyer so I'm not completely sure. If they do watch you piss and you live in the US, call a lawyer you might have a lawsuit on your hands. I have taken many drug tests, random and pre-employment and have always used synthetic urine. I have never been watched. The closest I have ever gotten to being watched is they stand outside the stall with the door closed. With that being said carrying a bottle of fake piss while at work is no big deal. Prior to being unemployed I carried one with me at all times along with a hand warmer pack to heat it up in the event of randoms. You get used to it. By the way I quit, not fired. http://www.urineluck.com/products/7.html I like this stuff for randoms. It's pre mixed and has a temp strip on the bottle. For pre-employment I use the concentrated piss from http://www.cleartest.com/ , it's cheaper and you get 3 oz instead of 2 with the quick fix. Urineluck.com also sells additive to add to your own piss to pass a test but depending on the test used it may not work. http://www.urineluck.com/products/6.html cleartest.com also sells similar products. If it's an instant test and any your a light smoker it may work. I still recommend fake piss. If the tests are always conducted on the same day of the week or month you can have a bottle of quick fix crotched and ready to go with a heating pad taped to it just in case you get popped. Boxer briefs with the pocket / hole thing in front work great. If there is no pattern, practice opening a hot hands heater silently. I do. Come out of the stall and tell them you don't have to piss this will give the hot hands time to warm up the bottle. Quick fix can be re-heated many times over as long as it's not exposed to direct sunlight. If your real paranoid there's always the good old whizinator. http://www.whizzinator.com/ Finally if you do get popped for a random and you don't have a way to pass it just quit on the spot. It's better than getting fired for failing a drug test or refusing to take one.
