LC appears to have stalled...

Does that make the mycelium in the jar any less viable? As link as there are strands of mycelium, there should be growth when transfered to a substrate, no? I have no problem throwing it out if it's not. What would indicate DEAD mycelium?

The mycelium is likely stalled due to lack of CO2 expulsion or lack of nutrients. Is the mycelium still viable, yes, provided your LC is contaminate free.

Thank you Wronguy! The solution is perfectly clear at this time....the only thing in it is mycelium. I am going to use it then and report the results.
It's a karo LC for those that may want to know.

No lack of nutes there bro! Also your myc is totally alive. What are you doing as far as gas exchange?

I have a hole in the lid, using micropore tape and shaking once a day.
All the mycelium has fragmented nicely, but no more is being created. It's fine as can be. like pulp in a lemonade, but sparse.
I can photograph it if you like.
In comparison, my honey bottles are very fluffy and continue to multiply nicely.

i have found gas exchange to be key. no one ever told me to add a filter, but since i have i get twice the growth. it looks like cotton candy in water now. i just use 2 tyvek discs over the gas exchange holes (2 small holes).
works great, but dont get the solution on the tyvek too much, or it'll glaze over and seal when the solution dries. this isnt a problem for me cause i just swirl it with a marble. ( i know that my meathod is a touch unorthodox, but it works wonders!!)

I have a stalled LC as well. 0 air exchange. A friend of mine started his at the same time with 0 air exchange as well. They were both stalled for 2 weeks. 3 days ago he made this device: He put a later of polyfill, then a camel cig butt or something like that, and then another layer of polyfill inside of the body of a syringe with the plunger removed. He PC'ed it. Then stabbed it into his 'B12 medicine bottle' LC jar. It is now full of myc and mine's still dead.
So, I'm going to add an air exchange and see if mine will recover.
