To much oyster shell won't have any effect on it. Is your casing glistening with moisture? I always recommend a short term buffer (hydrated lime) to immediately sweeten the peats acidic nature. Exactly how long has it been since you cased?

What is the depth of the casing layer Bongtoke? Are you providing an avenue for CO2 expulsion?

its around 1/4 inch deep and i put saranwrap over the top with holes all around it so co2 can escape perfectly this is how i always do it... sub depth is about 3 inches

A casing will fail to colonize if the pH is wrong, if the moisture is wrong, or if you allow too much fresh air early on. Too many people don't realize that casing must be covered with syran wrap or something at first to prevent excess air exchange to really colonize well (at least in my experience). You want one pin hole per 4 square inches or so. Once you see the casing valleys covered with mycelium then, and only then, should you resume fruiting conditions. This sort of thing is hard to do with a huge tray, which is why I recommend lots of smaller trays. Believe me, it's worth it. When you pull over a few pounds per square foot that first flush, you won't give a damn that you had to run five small trays versus one huge one.

Just loosely cover with foil even this will help not trigger early light stimulation also. As blue Helix said and I agree there are more than one reason, make that casing a welcome mat for the myc! Peat without hydrated lime is very acidic something myc hates and trich loves enough said. Lots of smaller trays

I wouldn't use that many pin holes. Yes, pinholes are small, but that's the whole point. You are trying to build up the CO2 under the wrap to encourage mycelium vegetation and PREVENT a flip over to fruiting mode. Once you go to the fruiting mode, the mycelium will spread very slowly, if at all, colonize the casing. Believe me, I had the exact problem you did many times myself when I would put too many holes.
