also sometimes called Ah! My Goddess, it's a Japanese Manga series.
I've been reading these alot recently, and I'm being so impacted by the spiritual beauty in it. I don't think I've ever learned so much truth bout love so quick from a single source.
I'm sure many people would just dismiss it thinking it's childish, I know a lot of people do that when I express excitement for something like Disney films, or other cartoons, but I find so much spiritual truth and poignant emotions in some of these things.
Anyone else have any particlar sources for examples of blunt spiritual truth, where they act it out as opposed to instruct it? I strongly recommend the Oh! My Goddess Manga series to all who are wanting a good shot or truth and beauty to the heart.

although it is definitely a bit 'childish' as far as anime goes (no crazy sex/violence/plot-lines) it reminds me of a slighty more erotic studio ghibli production.

Shōjo Kakumei Utena Not quite as A!MG (and it can't be labeled childish in any way) Also Angel's egg. A movie really worth checking out, might be a bit too much for some, as there is almost no dialogue.

Shōjo Kakumei Utena, does that contain examples of spiritual truth too? If so I'll get some volumes.
For the record, I don't consider these things childish, I think that term pretty much only applies to an intentionally simplified presentation for basic minds, and even then I think it's an arrogant mistake on the producer's behalf to think that kind of presentation benefits a kid, baby, or anyone. But when a story is flavored by an animated format, and involve fun relationships and open non-romantic love many people label it "childish" and dismiss it, but I think that is only because these people are ignorant to the knowledge that these things are essential qualities of life for everyone, and they basically have, themselves, swallowed a lie and are cursed to uphold a worthless ideal for the sake of believe they're 'grown up' by other people's standards.
I think there's an obvious reason why a youth's spirit is naturally drawn towards pleasant things, and while their minds may be simpler it doesn't mean their soul feeds off an entirely different spiritual substance; rather, they are the reminder of what it is that we, who forget through the proccess of societal indoctrination, really need.
Although all western produced animations, aside from the degenerative crap cashing in on the "OMG did he say that?" mentality, are all shit because it seems the media thinks that kids = dumb and lobotamized-ish happy, instead of sincere happy.

I haven't really read the manga, only saw the series and the movie. But the answer is yes. It's more or less about a strugle, whether to remain "childish" or to "grow up"
And yeah, I agree with everything you said. Pretty sure you'll like Utena
