Yeah grow a P. Viridis, grow a Kratom plant, some cacti, some poppies and grow a Coffee plant while your at it. Its fun to grow stuff.
As for P.Viridis I think the Preta Black Queen strain has a slightly higher alkaloid content than the rest of them, I know where to get seeds, but I dont know if I can't link to suppliers in the forums, so PM me if you want to know.
Also the Hawaiian Baby Woodrose "Fractal Strain" sounds very interesting, I might have to try and grow one sometime, though it would have to be an indoor vine... that would either be cool or a pain in the ass.
BTW- This is the same supplier, very good service, and VERY good products, the absolute best kratom I have ever tried.
Also it is really difficult to extract DMT from P. Viridis for some reason, it has been done, but its hard. So if you get that its Ayhuasca time.

Fresh leaves are good for brew though!
ah, .2% in viridis, yet someone was trying to convince me, in another thread, that everyone and their momma gets off on 3-5g of smoked viridis, and it was something I'm missing out on. Duhhhrrrr...

Acacia Obtusifolia is a good choice for home growing. Cold hardy, 0.45% of clean DMT in the bark and 0.3% in the young shoots. That Acacia Simplicifolia sounds good too with 0.86% NN-DMT.

your gonna have to take growing time into account too. i think in the time it takes to get some good rootbark you could grow a shitload of Psychotria.
and then theres the space consideration. mimosa will take up alot of space for yielding a few usefull parts, whereas Psychotria takes up less space with more usefull parts for the area it takes up.

Why would it be hard to extract? Sheer volume involved... perhaps? I wouldn't think extraction would be any more "hard" based upon different plants. It might vary in yield, but I don't see how it could vary in difficulty.
Viridis is what I was going to grow

I couldnt tell you why exactly it doesnt work, but I have tried it before and I have read that there are very few successful extractions over at DMT World. I know when I tried it seemed to not basify correctly and the dmt never migrated into my naptha layer, whereas Mimosa rootbark worked just fine the way I did it. I think that the extractions that did work did something different, they may have used xylene instead of naptha but i'm not sure. But the ones that did work had small but very potent yeilds.
So you can do it, i'm just not sure how. Or if its even worth doing. I would say the leaves are best left for tea, its a very nice cleansing trip once you puke

Well bloody darn... I wanted a hardy plant to extract DMT from, one that didn't require a lot of time or space investment.

"Why would it be hard to extract? Sheer volume involved... perhaps?"
Volume and the required defat is all really. I've spoken to a lot of people who've done it. Works well, just usually is done in smaller batches.
Surely the best option if you plan on growing something in the states. Acacia might be a decent alternative, I've only begun reading about them.

Hrm, well I'll have to look into acquiring a few specimens then. I'd have to look up how to care for them, but that's not hard. I have a number of pots in the yard that are currently vacant, including at least 3 decent sized trays designed to hang from a fence. Those I happen to particularly favor. I can hang them up on the backyard fence that runs east-west. Compared to the ground, a planter hung there receives up to 2 hours more direct light. (My backyard is a very narrow strip running north-south, surrounded by a 6 foot fence, and very close to a house on both the east and west sides. Not a very good location in terms of direct light.)
Out of curiosity, is it possible to extract from phalaris? I've heard a lot of negativity about doing so... however I'm very comfortable with extraction and the basic chemistry behind it. I think that if it's fairly possible that I'd like to try it. Even if it isn't necessarily practical.

You could probably order some seeds from australian vendors.

Phalaris will work fine, though it has 5-meo dmt in it as well making the dose much harder to calculate.
I know I would just make a patch of phalaris in my yard and when its grown good (with major neglect, phalaris alkaloids like neglect), dry it out and powder it in a coffee grinder, then perform a standard dmt extraction on it.
but thats assuming i would do something like that.

Bundleflower might be an option. Better suited to outdoor growing as well.
