RYE - But I don't want to soak OR simmer...
    #5385308 - 03/10/06 12:06 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

I just want to load the correct amounts of RYE and h2O into the Quart jars then PC. I have the tek sorta but how do I convert it into say cups.

I need something like this but for quart jars:

Basic rye recipe for 1 pint jar:

- 100g(3.5 oz ~ 125 ml) rye
- 110g(3.9 oz =110 ml) water

But instead of grams, a measurement with a measuring glass.

Double the recipe for quarts (2 pints in a quart)

Conversion: www.convertit.com

Or just ask google what you want to know in the search box

i just eyeball it....

make my water equal to the grain line, or slightly above it.

works for me.

You fill your jars up to the grain line with water and then pc????

how the hell does that workout? to me it sounds like the whole jar would be water logged.

you need to soak to germinate the spores.

Lets say my PC only goes up to 12psi? Is this method not going to work? The only PC I have that I know goes up to 15psi only fits 3 pint jars. The PC I have that fits the quarts don't say how high the pressure gets up to and I think that means its a 12psi model.

I'm not sure. I'm not at home at the moment to look either. But its for sure off brand. I got it from a store called Meijer.

I will post back later with the brand name.

i don't think i've ever seen a twelve psi model?

good to hear that someone else is pcing the shit out of grains without any prep...
now i gotta try it with rye...
always eyeball my millet. little less than half a jar, then top off with water until just a few layers of grain rise from the surface, in other words, about 1/8 inch of water shows at the break where the grains start to float...
pc for 1 hr 20 mins... shake when cool enough to touch..
