Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter To Orbit Today
    #5385292 - 03/10/06 11:59 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

So the newest mission to Mars, the MRO is set to insert itself into Mars orbit today. This is a very difficult maneuver. Nasa has been pulling it off about half the time they attempt it. The stakes are a bit higher today 'cause the MRO is definately the most advanced satellite sent to Mars. It has the potential to tell us more about the planet than every other mission sent there combined....

So yeah, you can catch live coverage on NasaTV starting at about 3:30 CST. Worth watching cause you'll either see some screaming and crying space-geeks when their new probe doesnt get into orbit and instead goes screaming off into interstellar space, or crashed into the planet. Or you'll see screaming and crying space-geeks when the last 10 years of their lives are vindicated.

Good scene either way.
