SWIM has many large Amazonian fruits forming for his very first time. A few of them are growing directly down into the wet perlite. Is this a bad thing??? Do they grow towards the light like plants? either way swim is very excited to see soooo many fruits of his first attempt. also what would be a good beginners fresh dose for Amazonian cubensis.swim has never gone on a shroomy adventure But cannot wait.
Any help appreviated,thx

Shrooms grow towards light. I'm sure you know you need light to induce pins, keep a light source on for 12 hours or so to keep your boomies growing straight.
I would reccommend eating 20 grams fresh (or 2g's dried) for ones first trip. After an hour and a half or so, you should know if you're ready for more. I wouldn't exceed 30 grams.

Kijaboo; Oh no~ they can grow down along the perlite and even begin to dig a little with the weight of their juicy goodness; perlite won't hurt them at all unless your perlite is synonamous with "standing perlite slush" in which case the water could soften and start to rot the mushroom's flesh after extended contact. Perlite's 500% easier to dust off fresh wet mush than vermiculite is. The sooner you pick dwarfs, the sooner the myc network will forget about them (seal off and patch closed the connection to what was their root) and concentrate efforts on new fruits. Although I suppose the definition of an abort is a small fruit which has already done this.

do you mean patch with fresh verm??? dry/wet??
only 1 out of 8 did not get contaminated, so swim doesn't want to make a mistake on his last cake. Swim has learned alot from this experiment, thanks for all the info.

No I'm not talking about patching~ that would be for casings. I'm saying that if the mushroom grows down into the perlite, it doesnt matter unless it's dipping into standing water (which you shouldn't have) and staying submerged for an extended period. Is my english that bad? Haugh.

?~ you did reply to Kijaboo. It's all about experience and personal temperment though, killacam420. I guess DIRTYMAN was just suggesting the low dosage to be on the safe side for Kijaboo having his first experience, as he himself asked for help with dosage.

llamakid420 is his actual nick, he messed it up with typos when he registered though, obviously too lazy to fix it since. He also types with all four legs which takes collossal coordination. At least he's getting better.
