How long do people usually wait to inoc. their jars after PCing? I've read 24 hours, but that seems a little excessive. The PC and jars seem to be cool after 12.

Dude, no offense, but you can just use some damn common sense here. If the jars are hot, or even warm, to the touch, then don't inoc yet. If they're cool to the touch, they're fine.

core temp is always much higher than external temps are. wait A extra few hours otherwise you could very well waste your money, time , effort, & worse of all your spores.

I agree that the core temp will be warmer, but I don't think it will be significantly warmer to the point that it's detrimental to the spores if the jars are completely cool to the touch.

Yep, just like some peoples "room temp" is 60F while others is 85F. Verm is a very good insulator and if you have jars in a very cold place they get cold to the touch very fast. I cool my LC jars under running tap water and it takes ages to do it. You think they are cool, leave them 5 mins and the jar is warm again. Better to wait another few hours, rather than days worrying if you toasted them.

i always cool my spore syringe water in a freezer because hot water drops temp mega fast.
i use to cool my casing mix in the same manner for a while until one day half the bag was frozen to the freezer and the other half burned the shit out of my hands.

Dude, I wait about 1 hour. Just put it into the freezer or an ice bath untill its cool to the touch. Take it out, let it sit to make sure its not still hot in the middle, and inoc.

Let it cool down at room temp and give it overnight.
If you Take a jar out of boiling water or worst yet a PC and place it into the freezer there is a good chance that jar will crack.
In fact I wanted to get an LC out of my PC one day so I could start PCing some jars. So I used a fork to relive the pressure inside the PC. When all the pressure was relieved I opened my PC to find a cracked and therefore useless jar.

They are ready to inoculate when they are no longer warm to the touch, it's as simple as that. You be the judge!
