Huh. I've got to soak mine, I guess it's just not a very good dishwasher, or my sprayer is just weak. Or maybe it's since I let them dry on the counter for a week :-P

The good thing is that you get several kinds of cleaning I mean, you get the water slosh, the soap cleaning, then when it's drying it steam cleans them. Definately should kill ANYTHING. Still, after putting mine thru the dishwasher i washed them in alcohol.

shit i wish i had a dishwasher. i have at least 72 jars all washed by hand everytime for the past 2 years. bags are really the way to go IMO. if they get contaminated you can just chuck 'em in the trash.

yeah, bags are nice, but I'm not pro enough to get hte moisture right, which I think is constantly leading to contams or stalling. But, I just bought a new pc, so we'll see.... And damn, 72 jars, I've only got 2 dozen!

I had a dishwasher too. Then I got a divorce.
Seriously though, I have one. I also have an oil-fired furnace/water heater. My water comes out of the tap at 140oF and the dishwasher has a habit of kicking that up to 185oF during the wash cycle. The first rinse is at 140oF to keep the food from baking on, then the heater kicks in for the dual wash cycles.
