Homebrewers...
    #5382430 - 03/09/06 06:09 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Who else here brews their own beer? If so, any good recipes to share?

I've been learning the craft from an old hippie in san francisco who claims to have been invited to join a trappist monastery and brew with the monks... I wouldn't be surprised to find out he browses these boards.

Yeah me and my dad do.

We usually just get the kits and make those. They're cheaper than getting the malt extract and the hops and all the other shit.

$23 for 23 litres of beer.

I've been doing partial extracts. It generally costs me 20-30 bucks per 5.5 gallons of beer.

I've got a belgian golden ale and an altbier going right now.

I should do this, to save some $
I drink so much that I could use it in large quantities.

Yeah, the downside is that all the equipment you need to brew is going to cost about 100 bucks to get started.  But the quality of beer you get out of it is well worth it.

Of course, it tastes that much better if you're underage.  :naughty:

I'v done a few home-brews.
Nothing better than putting your putting your energy into a project, and than getting to enjoy the fruits of your labor when you are done.
Fresh beer gives a supior buzz. All the fresh hops add a much more relaxed mellow feeling. Hops are a close cousin to canibas sativa.
