The western inner traditions go iNteractive.
Gnostic Radio at Live365 (radio station). Tune in Sunday mornings for live lectures.
My apologies for the plug, I have no association with the radio station, just thought many here would find it arousing.
Enjoy

Samael Aun Weor, the late individual who strikes me as somewhat sinister and cult-like, is the 'authority' behind this Gnostic radio station. He took his name from 'Samael' - The Blind God (or God of the Blind) which refers to the Jehova-ego Demiurge who created the universe (without realizing that Wisdom was acting through him, and Christ through Wisdom, according to the Gnostic myth). The 'Aun' is his version of Aum (or, OM), and 'Weor' is some derivative of Word (as in Logos), but no etymological connection can be found.
I personally prefer www.gnosis.org with Stephen Hoeller. The free web lectures on that site are informative and Hoeller has a sense of humor. Just my 2 cents .

MarkostheGnostic i was wondering what your opinion was of Samael Aun Weor. i recently visited a gnostic forum and everyone kept talking about him and calling him "the master". they seemed to regard him as some kind of ultimate authority figure on gnoticism and the universe in general, for instance when someone posted a topic dealing with new age teachings everyone became extremely hostile and said "the master says blah blah blah" about why new age teachings are not acceptable for gnostics.

My point precisely - 'master' reeks of cult-leader. I researched his biography on Google a while back and I don't remember details, but I came away with a negative sense about him. Hoeller seems downright sincere, he is a Tau of a Gnostic Catholic Church, has a sense of humor (important - especially when he goofs on himself), and is genuinely scholarly.

Markos, are you familiar with Tau Malachi of the Sophia Fellowship? I'm reading a book by him right now, and was curious what your opinion of him was.

I've read it, I found it an extremely solid introduction to Gnosticism, though it can be a bit dry at times.
An excellent starting point, none the less.

Just in case you haven't seen it yet, on www.gnosis.org there is a free audio seminar under the same title, " New light on an ancient tradition"
