    #5380553 - 03/09/06 09:12 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

im running out of funds and getting closer to fruiting time...On the poor mans terrarium that uses 2 liter bottles....How do u keep the heat at the right temp. Now instead of a damp paper towel i got perlite i could use and would be more than enough humidity. Just curious about the heat really...And also...Would i just shine a light over all the bottles...or is a few lights necc. Please help, i could not find these anwsers in search...Thanks for any help.

Optimal temps for fruiting is i believe 75 - 76. What temp do you keep your house? If you keep them in a cabinet or something heat rises and should keep it warm enough. Mushrooms don't go through photosynthesis so they only need light to tell them which direction to go. One light should do. Well depending on the size of course but if your using 2 liters to fruit its probably not too big. Good Luck

i would suggest you find a nice little spot in your house that stays in the range you are looking for. for incubation on top of the refridgerator is nice but you said fruiting, so look for a spot around 74-78 maybe a little lower even.
