6 days ago I inoculated 24 BRF/verm jars with B+ and now, the first little bits of growth
this is my "best" jar, it has a little bit of myc. growth
My 24 jars in their home
My mushies flat, complete with a door lock
I plan on using my cakes as spawn for a dung tek and 50/50 case them
could some one give me a few tips on seting up a fish tank heater to a thermostat?

Just put a aquarium heater in a jar of water with some sort of sealed top. Tin foil works good because you can place the heater right through it. You'll have to play around a little to get the correct tempurature. Aim for 80-83 degrees because the jars are usualy warmer than the surrounding air.

12 of my 24 jars are around 20-30% colonized while the other 12 are around 0-5%, the first 12 are developing very rhyzomorphic growth.

its now very close to the 2 week mark and 12 of my jars are showing great growth, they are ripping throuigh the BRF and are close to the 50%+ mark.
BUT 10 of my "other" 12 jars have shown NO growth at all, only two jars from the second syringe are growing and even now they are only less than 5%, im starting to worry, i have one more syringe and i am thinking if i see no growth in 5 days im going to re-inoculate the 10 non-growing jars.
This is my fastest growing jar 13 days after innoculation
and this is my jars make-shift incubator, i used a 50W fish tank heater in a 2L pop bottle and have my jars stacked around it.
please give me some info on what to do with my 10 non-growing jars

i have heard the same thing about b+ but the thing that worries me is that half of my jars are going great and the other half r not going at all, i think it was jsut an extremly old syringe or somthing.
for a terarium i am using a 102.2L rubbermade tub, i plan on using my cakes as spawn for dung/straw tek and then jsut casing it and poping it in the tub with a pan of water and my heater.

Have patience, I am in your situation right now (a little farther ahead). But, 2 of the 16 jars I innoculated colonized extremely fast, within one week and they were at 75% done! The rest showed no signs of white, by the time the other 14 jars started showing only a little white, the other 2 were done and I threw them into the casing phase at least 2 weeks ahead of the rest... The rest are now 50% colonized, so having patience with this is a virtue Don't worry, as long as you don't see contams, your doing fine.

dammit, thismoring i woke up and looked all my jars over like i do every moring, and the one jar with the big mother fu*@ing crack along one side had a litttle bit of green on it. I birthed the contaminated cake early and i discovered that the mycelium was about 1 CM away from the contam and the contam itself never actually was exsposed to open air. So now i have half a cake cased in verm, ill let ya know what happens, and would the fruit from this cake be edible or am i stuck with using it for prints?

Guess what! I made 6 birdseed jars a while back using the polyfil tek and I kept 3 with foil left on over the polyfill and 3 with just the polyfil and the ones without the foil went 100% faster. I took the foil off the others now, and there was some nasty shit growing on the polyfil, i wiped it off with alcohol. One jars polyfill is so nasty I decided to quarentine it just in case it spread to other jars.
That sucks about your jar. Wonder how it cracked? HAve you ever looked at the incubator that they show on PF for dummies, you should check it out, it works great for me. Just thought Id throw that in for ya.

My mouse pad has moved to the next step of mushroom growing, spawing the bulk substrate. Its microwaved aprox 2 leters of horse dung and put it in ziplock bags with a cake in each, since it has 12 good cakes and 12 more on the way it can afford to fu@k around i will post a few pic for my mouse pad (since it has no arms) once the mycelim has recovered from being crumbled and has started to colonize the diung.
can some one give me a time frame of when i should notice growth in the bags and some tips on other bulk substrates, that do not stink up your whole house for weeks?

Straw is a great bulk substrate, and worm castings too. Most sites have these teks. You should see the first signs of growth in the next day or two. Good luck

no thats not green
This is a pic of one of my cakes i was forced to birth early (60%) due to the a massive crack in the jar. The caseing has colonized and i have been faning twice a day, and i have put it in a slightly colder area. Now my question, do i just keep fanning and wait for pins?
also the dung i am trying to colonize is showing no growth

Here are the pins i mentioned earlyer, i sure hope they grow up to be nice and strong.
ya i know, its a crappy webcam
i made poopy
this is a shot of my mouse's dung tray that is colonizing, the cheese smell it had smelt earlyer is no longer present and now it really smells like well.... nothing. but now its terarium stinks, it thinks there is somthing growing in the little pools of water that are forming in the lowest parts of the tub due to condensation.
