Best Way to dry out???

Whad up all, Just wondering if there is a "best" way of drying out my 'lil fun-guys. What I have been doing is just letting them sit out in the open for 4 days and letting them dry naturally. What I am curious about is if this will affect the potency of my mushrooms. Does drying them out naturally affect the active alkaloids in the mushroom? Would the MMGG technique prevent such a loss if there is one at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Boomer

I have come to hate answering questions, beacause some dumbass will tell me it doesn't work..........But the best method for drying is slow drying like you are doing at a temperature around 80 degree's with a fan or constant breeze flowing against them..to stop them from molding, if you have any very thick stemed shrooms you can slit the stem long ways and cut drying time in half.........During the warmer months sun drying works well, but does bri=uise them a little...........I hate you all...

don't liek fan drying myself as have to do in my room, it is noisey takes ages and never gets them bone dry. ALthough sometimes i will fan dry for half a day to a day at the start then go to the epsom salt method. If is a large stemmed mushroom will make a cut down the stem.

I have a wire basket attached to the front of the fan and use wire window screen to make little pouches to fit into the basket. I place a cardboard box over the fan and basket for 24-48 hours (no heat). Then, I use Damp-Rid (calcium cholride) in a cooler with a drain in the corner and tubing as a desication chamber. From there (whenever the shrooms are "cracker" dry)----they are vaccumn sealed and placed in the freezer.
