So I just planted 100 peyote seeds. 30 was a bluish green variant from Cardona , mexico, and 30 seeds is to a bluish tinted from Huizache in Mexico also. 20 Seeds is to a unknown peyote variant bought from a netherland seed vendor. 10 seeds was labeled Lophophora williamsii ?frici?and the last 10 was labeled Lophophora williamsii v. decipiens. I was most curious about the Lophophora williamsii v. decipiens, when its a v. decipiens is that a true peyote, active? they are supposedly smaller than the other variants i planted. Anyone know anything about it? and info on the `frici`variant is wanted also. Can these two be used for entheogenic purposes ?

yes i realize that. but a psilocybe cubensis v. cambodian is also a true cubensis to take another example. what is the diffrence here. they are lophophora williamsii, but what is the diffrence between a williamsi v. whatever and a williamsii `something`. is the last just a name given to a peyote.. like I can collect seeds from a wild peyote and call them l. williamsii `shriek` or l. williamsii v. shriek.. or are they hybrids?

Fricii isn't a williamsii at all. It's a different species. I don't think you'd ideally use it for an enthogen, but maybe I'm wrong.
decipiens is indeed a variant of williamsii.
Sounds like some great seeds. I'd love some blue ones. Nothing like a nice blue cactus, especially peyote.

actualy there is some discussion going on about decipiens. some people are of the oppinion that its actualy its own species and if im not mistaken there has recently been a change in its status.
ive observed that decipiens is slightly darker in color, and my 1 y/o seedlings are slightly cone shaped compared to a more round difusa and a flat williamsii.
decipiens has the same alcaloid content as williamsii.

The whole name issue is quite difficult with lophophora. Since i don't grow them to consume it doesn't matter that much to me. I label the plants with name, variety and supplier to make it easier to distinguish them. For Instance the fricii seeds from the one supplier grew up to totally different plants than those from another supplier.
