A question for AA 25x, 50x, or 75x owners
    #5376652 - 03/08/06 05:32 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Can you use the sterilizer with jars just sitting on the rack, without wasting space with the inner pot?
ALso, I bought a 25x on ebay, and it doesn't have a manual. How much water do these take?

If there is a rack there then it is safe to put jars on, just fill until the water line is 1/4 to 1/2 way up the jar.

Yo bubba,

First off, there are 2 models of the AA 925X.
1 is non-electric (stove top type).
The other ..........

In case you have not looked inside it  :crazy2:

has the heating element fully exposed INSIDE the bottom off the unit.

The rack sets over the heating element, the INSERT sets ON the rack.

YOU FAILED TO STATE WHICH MODEL YOU HAVE. :crazy2:

IN EITHER CASE

USE THE RACK..... :smirk:......use the INSERT.

PUT 2 QUARTS OF WATER IN IT.

Then, with either model

Do a low pressure test run, to make sure the lid seats correctly & your steam pressure toggle release valve & gauge FUNCTIONS PROPERLY. :smirk:

It is an electric 25x, I paid $250. I have the rack that sits over the heating element, it's about 3 inches tall. The insert, then, is that big pot, right? I can certainly see how that pot is good (it would keep the element clean) but I am harded headed, so if there's a big risk (besides broken glass) if I put the jars straight on the rack, please mention that now.
