STEREOPATTERN - new music! ***UPDATED 3/16***
#5374705 - 03/07/06 03:20 PM (17 years, 10 months ago) |

EDIT: SEE This Post at the bottom for the update!!!
------------------------------ I've updated my site: STEREOPATTERN.COM with 2 new final songs, and a new demo.
The Tenth Pathway Distract The Eye of Providence (formerly 'Four Bulbs Under') and ***removed. see post below***
I had been working on "Distract..." off and on for about a year now. I'm glad to finally feel complete with it. 'The Tenth Pathway' is a nod to The Handbook to Higher Consciousness, and if you dig around you might be able to find out why...
Please let me know what you think about the new tunes, and any others up there. They are mostly in the style of chill, downtempo, ambient beats. Good with headphones and a bowl.
CHEERS!

Your shit is really cool man!
I hate phrases like that, but really, your music is good. I've been creating some downbeat tunes with my new Korg Electribe MX and I've been listening to a lot of similar music. Your's is capable of creating an ocean of emotion, as well as uncontrollably pulsating my toes.
Distract the Eye of Providence is a hit and I want to be dancing to it with a thousand other psychonauts in the deep, strobe light lit forest.

the tenth pathway: a boc-ish intro with full pads morphing nicely. it's obvious where your inspiration came from A nice meditative soundscape, good you didn't make it longer, it's nice this way.
Distract the eye of providence: I can here your own style here better, I like that nice little melodies etc in the background, you can listen often and hear new things
Emerging patterns: again more your own style, similar to 'distract', it fits nicely in the same style.
You're doing a good job on the distorted pads, I can hear boc's influence on this good production quality too.
you said the last one is a demo, are you sending out demo's? if you, any good news yet?

I've finished the "Demo", now called "Saywells On Main".
I really like it, it's quite relaxing and just... is.
hehe yeah I've been really tweaking the 'distorted pad' sound, and have come up with some beauties. boc alike or not, it's so sweet to the ears.
I've really added to the number of tracks I will send out soon to labels, but there's 1 song I really want to finish before I do. It's obviously impossible NOT to start new projects since my mind wanders so much. But I need to finish "Whistfully Speaking".
I haven't started sending out yet, I just labeled that last song (demo) since it wasn't finished...
Check it out: http://www.stereopattern.com/music.html http://www.stereopattern.com/music/Stereopattern%20-%20Saywell's%20On%20Main.mp3
what do you think???

Very relaxing; chill, and flowing. It sounds familiar for some reason, not sure why.
It would go good with a joint and some dim lights

This is some slick stuff man. My favorite is Distract the Eye of Providence - a really great track.
What kind of gear do you use?

This is my only hardware... Otherwise I use Cubase SX2, Fruity Loops, and a shit-ton of VSTs.
thanks guys I really like the nostalgic feeling, so I named it something from when I was growing up

thanks for reviving this thread.
I just got a new iMac, and I'm waiting to come upon Cubase for mac... sort of hard to find. I've attached my most recent tune. It's my favorite that I've made so far; the texture and mood is exactly as I intended.
Please enjoy

Props my friend. you have some beautiful tunes. I like the way you pay attention to movement in a piece- new elements are constantly being brought in while repeated elements are either subtly shifting or static for a good reason. If you don't mind me asking, what VSTs do you favor? I've been diggin on FM7/8 recently, seems up your alley. Oh yeah and I still drop your pieces on my radio show occasionally- most always with a shout to stereopattern.com
