that there is infact leonotis leonuri, exactly what you thought it to be.
ive grown these plants as big as 4 feet wide and 3 feet tall, but ive seen them up to 12 feet wide and 3 feet tall. I dont think they get any taller than around 4 foot, but they definately branch out alot. the flowers usualy are out year-round (sometimes not in the winter)...
you can make tea out of your leafs if your not into smoking it, but if you do decide to smoke it, only smoke the flowers (leafs are too harsh and not worth it) - and use a bong.

wow i never heard of ingesting the leaves for effect... how many leaves would you reccomend for an 180 lb person to get a good breakthrough dose.. do you reccomend fresh leaves or dry.. i assume that i have to take it in for the winter, if i cut a stump and left it outside it would die right? thanks so much

some people make quids (lippers) of the leafs, and some make tea out of the flowers and leafs... if u want to get really high from dagga you have to smoke repeatedly large bongrips like your smoking salvia or something... you will eventualy feel it. tea comes on a little milder and its more sleepy-narcotic.

I have 4 wild dagga sprouts in peat pellets, in full sun, about 1 week old. I'm wondering if it'll be alright to transfer them to potting soil with REALLY weak nutrients. I'd love to have 20 or so of these plants going, they're so beautiful, and i love making wild dagga tea.
Any help with growing this?

what sort of soil are you germinating the seeds in? i currently have about 5 seeds somewhere in a pot with potting soil... very fluffy/woody potting soil, and its been a week or 2 and i havent seen any activity.
Does anyone know any tips/tricks for germination soil/moisture wise?

I love the way these plants smell, so sweet. Don't know how to explain it.
Klip dagga is rumored to be the better smoke, don't know how true it is. I tried both, didn't notice too much difference.

I planted about 10 - 15 of them last year and only one came back this spring.
Also, it might just be late to flower. I had the same concern last year, but it flowered.
Some of the younger ones never did, maybe they only flower the second growing season?
