Pinning???
    #5373668 - 03/07/06 09:59 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

What is the longest time period someone has experienced for pinning to begin? I begin fruiting about 4 days ago and the mycelia production is going slower than normal. I even incubated the casing for about 4 days before starting the pinning process. Shyt just seems weird.. The mycelia is slowly breaking the casing, but not much. I can see the mycelia through the cracks and it appears healthy and thick. I am just curious if pinning can take a longer time, because everything appears to be going, but slow?

If this can be normal, why is it so slow? Lack of humidity? Lack of water?

4 days is nothing. pinning can take up to 2 weeks in my experience. on average it's usually less than a week. of course that again is on average NOT gaurenteed under a week.

can take up to 2 weeks... could be a million different things. Remember to keep your casing layer at "near-saturation" aka when the soil just starts to sparkle.
