Shelf life of Medium Jars

If I ordered some pre-filled jars and they've been sealed up in those fed-ex shipping envelope-bags for several months, are they still suitable for injecting? Or would I do better to make some new ones? Is the moisture content at risk of being low?

Provided they were PC'ed properly, they are not unlike canned preserves. They should last for ever.

oh, Bro...
if you KNOW how to make jars (and that doesn't take much)... WHY did you order/buy pre-mades???
don't feel bad. i did it when i was a youngin'...
if there are no contams, then you need to consider moisture content.
if they are in fact sealed, they should still be fine. i would just knock em up using a little more spore solution (i'm guessing you arent using LC) than usual... let em colonize, birth em and go from there.
they may be a wee bit dry if they're old, so dunking might be a good idea (even before the 1st flush).
really, it all depends on how much inoculant you have at your disposal. if you only have a limited amount of syringes, I would make new jars. no sense in wasting precious (and expensive) spores.
if spore/inoculant solution isnt a concern... go for it.
like i said, if they aren't contammed, they will work. it couldnt hurt to take one of the jars (sacrifice it), open it up and break the substrate apart to check the moisture content yourself.

thanks for your advice guys i actually feel like a douche because I checked my posts and i apparently made two on the same topic. yeah, guess i checked out for a couple days. heh.
anyway, I have about 8 of these grain based jars, and I did already open one up-it didn't seem too moist at all but not bone dry.
They were packed up and sealed in those fed ex bags, and don't appear to have any contams. Would pressure-cooking them restore their moisture content? Krill, how many CCs per jar would u recommend, I have just a couple of syringes on hand but I can order more if needed, or would going thru w/ a liquid culture be a better idea?
I wouldn't have a problem trashing the verm. and doing it all over but i'd like to go ahead an use 'em if it would otherwise be a waste.

if you know how to do a LC and have the sterilie conditions to do so(i.e glovebox...) then its pertty much not much better, but faster colonization of jars...so defeinitely LC if youre in a hurry.

It depends ob the type jar, gas exchange (if any) & if the jars are sealed in something air tight.
If the can, they will equalize Rh, with the ambient outside air. Meaning, in some instances, the can get far to DRY.
