Sterilizing bulk casing mix using Oven Bags

getting ready to mix and sterilize casing mix.
seems like a Noob question (and i guess it is...), but i've never worked with coir before, or ever had to case Poo/Spawn. i don't have any Quart jars (yet) and pint jars seem too small to be efficient. i know some of you don't sterilize your casing mix, but i'm going to. so don't bother commenting if you don't cuz i've already heard it...
i CAN use the Pint jars and sterilize the Verm and Coir seperately and mix em aferwards...
but i do have oven bags and it seems like it would cut out some leg work to get the verm and coir to field capacity, load a big bag full of it and then sterilize it all together in one load.
will this work? will double-bagging the mix hamper the process at all?
also, would this affect the PC time? i planned on running the pint jars @ 20-30 minutes @ 15 psi.

Since your going to sterilize your casing I wouldn't use the jars, rather a lot of work for no real point and then you'll have to mix them all together...when you can just put all together in oven bag hydrate to capacity and PC..no need to double bag an oven bag, they are made to last. I hope I understood what you were asking correctly...good luck!

"I hope I understood what you were asking correctly...good luck!"
for sure.
i just figgur'd i'd double bag for two reasons...
1) i always double bag my oven bags when i pasteurize Poo since the first time i pasteurized i used only one bag and it broke when i pulled it out of the pot. double-bagging hasn't failed me since.
2) when charting "un-familiar territories" it's always a good rule of thumb to "double bag it" -or at least have Listerine at your disposal!!! haha... (sorry.)

Fair enough, if you choose to double bag the casing you can with no real variable from it...It really wont effect the sterilization much if any...If its safety reasons then fine, but remember they arn't going in jars to colonize so sterility is kind of a pase subject with casings, but no need to adjust the PC time more than a couple minutes or so for optimal steam "penetration"...good luck.

thanks, Brosef...
i know sterilizing the casing mix is trivial it's just my Verm is less-than-fresh and the coco-block i got from the local Hydro-supplier looked like it coulda been there for a season or two (not to mention it was literally sitting on the floor)
i'm obsessive, and IMO that never hurt anything. thanks for the advice my man.
