Exactly the word I was thinking of. And then the expansions start coming, just like in the sims

Maxis gets a little too carried away with the expansion packs. I think they realize that while they may be adding cool content to good games, they also have an excuse to milk the fuck out of a money cow... and they milk it a LOT.

It's gotten to the point where, on principal, I will always buy a legitimate copy of an original maxis game, but when the expansion pack assembly line gets warmed up and starts producing, I start up azureus and treat myself to content that could easily have made it into the basic game.

Meh, I didn't bother to buy the Sims2 I knew the expansion packs were gonna come, and I didn't want to spend money on something I might not get my full experince out of.

I purchased The Sims 2 not long after it was released. Even the basic game was a great experience. I did, however, miss a lot of the content that I had gotten used to with the Livin' Large and House Party expansion packs from the original Sims (those were the only expansion packs I bought).

The expansion packs for The Sims 2 I have all downloaded in the form of CD images (a rip would not be compatible with the original installation). I know it's wrong, but as often as maxis releases expensive expansion packs I couldn't possibly afford to keep up.

But I'm going off-topic. I'll stop discussing this now.
