Stop giving everything a purpose.

I have been looking for something lately.
I have always been a really stable guy, and upon discovering all this spirituality business, I have started to feel like I was looking for something but I didn't know what, and I just felt like I couldn't settle in to where I was at the moment.
One night, I thought to myself, stop giving everything a purpose. Just be.
Isn't it strange that let it be is playing right now on my music play list, how ironic.
So now, I am so happy. Alan Watts has been a help along the way, but I really feel oh so settled.
Everything is so perfect how it is, and I can really feel myself integrate with the present.
The air breathes itself into me, and I thank it, and the jewels that are my eyes see such wonderful colors, and I thank them.
I feel so happy about everything. It's a nice place to be, somewhere I have been a lot.
I think my little trip from it, for a couple of months, which wasn't too intense but still something, was a nice refreshing thing.
I can now really appreciate it more.
Let it be.
EDIT: I think it's time for a trip to psychadelic land.

Maybe you already had it all (the spiritual) understood right before you started intentfully analyzing the spiritual; then when you started looking into the spiritual, all your preconceptions about what it was started showing through what you were reading, and it all became confusing.
The same was with me for the longest time, which was 5 years. 5 years of pain just to figure out that I had it right at the beginning. Bleah! And now I have to rediscover a lot of what I had spurned back then in favor of understanding the spiritual teachings.

That really is kind of what it was. But now I just really appreciate it more, and feel like I have learned a lot through it all.
But yeah, I definitely know what you mean about feeling I had it right at the beginning. But it is nice to have it defined, and obviously there is still much to be learned.

Amen! ha...I'm currently at that spot too now in my life, just living in the present moment....society teaches you us we must have purposes....but really in the "end"...it doesn't matter....embrace the moment, embrace yourself...just embrace.......mmmmmmm, tis so sweet...

I wish man, every day my heart dies a little more. The most fucked up shit anyone has EVER gone through keeps happening to me over and over. My gentle spider tried to bite me. My girl friend broke up with me, the government decided to seize my assets. I broke a necklace that took me 15 hours to make. Someone broke into my house and imprinted a star going through my heart on a book that I was given for christmas as a child. Put red dots like eyes on the first picture in the book. Even with my eyes closed I still see. Now I see the most fucked up shit on the back of my eyelids. Pentagrams, eyes, crosses, words, I am seeing images of everything I THINK. Met a grandmaster in kung fu. Went through chi gung. I'm not even gonna mention the rest. I WISH I was insane. I am totally rational and I have no fear. I don't feel much of anything really. Maybe I am insane but then again I got proof of what has been happening That is why I quit black magic I went too far, way too far. Tried to summon leviathan into that damn spider book, just to see if it worked. Some demon here with me keeps trying to seize control.

Being truly "here" in the moment and letting "it be" is actually a very, very important spiritual lesson for the archaic shaman.
Sounds like you're on the right track!
