Alright so i checked my incubator just for the hell of it today and its like 90 95 degrees in there. I was like holy shit. Anyway My Heater says it only goes up to like 88 or something like but. But the water (i felt it too) is like really hot shower water. You know the kind that leaves your skin red when you get out. So what is the deal with this. I turned it down i need to get a thermometer for in there. Also i pulled a jar out of my incubator after i came to the conclusion that my sryinge was badand it been there for about a week. So the jar has been around for almost 2 weeks now. I was gonna dump it in preperation for my new syringe that is on the way but when i looked in it there is this cobweby looking shit all over it. but it is not thick anyone know what this shit is. Thanks

Oh i guess i should also say that i had a jar of LC that i thought was fucked also, just no growth in the LC. The BRF jar that i took out i decided to put a whole 12cc syringe full of the Fucked LC in it just for the hell of it. And before that no growth at all. This is confusing. I read that the Mexi-cube strain will colonize at temps as low as 50 but do they not like a hot incubator, Well if it was around 80-85. God i am so confused

You'll have much better luck incubating at room temperature. The few days faster colonization at 80 over 75 is, in my opinion not worth the hassles that getting too hot causes. It seems every day there is another thread where somebody cooked their jars. Is it really worth the risk to have jars finish in three weeks instead of three and a half to four weeks at normal room temperature? I haven't used any sort of incubator in years. If it's really cold in the room you grow in, just run a small space heater. You'll be warmer too. RR

monitor the tempe of the air in the incubator. If it gets above 100F, you have have fried your myc. I think you will be fine if you hit the high 90's for a day or so.. (that is if your jars were good to begin with)

mycelium can start off fluffy. Just let it keep growing, then you will know for sure.

Most aquarium heaters have cheap thermostats and their settings can never be beleived, one they are set they tend to stay constant though, and the error is usually linear. i.e. if setting 80F really gives 83F, then setting to 77F should give 80F.
Roger always talks about room temp being OK, and it is if you are in a hot country, my room is 60-65F these days which is too cold.

Yes it is a TiT incubator. A small one though there is a pic in my gallery of it.
