Recycling spawnings that were ruined by wet spot
    #5369946 - 03/06/06 06:36 AM (17 years, 10 months ago)

Hey, i done a big enough first time rye grow and didnt know what wet spot was and my wild bird seed got it and spread it to nearly all the rye jars.... some i even spawned cause i didnt know what wet spot was and they were fully colonised... anyway the ones that were infected didnt spawn at all! they just look like the day i spawned them ... tiny bit of white over the rye but its dead ... so i wasted all that time pasturising them etc and now have to throw them out ...

but im thinking of doing a rye grow with poo and then just thought ... if i load this dead spawn with the poo and rye into some jars and pc them for about an hour n half ... technically everything inside will be dead... then inject them with some healthy syringes and isolate them and see if i can bring these back to life

I know i should chuck them but the poo is still good and the pc for hour n half should either kill everything or turn it all into useless mush ... and ill keep them away from my incubator and all other things ... might put them inside the computer to incubate

Any thoughts or anyone try it before or does wet spot eat the nutes in the rye that the mushies need?

holy god already im regretting this idea and thinking of canceling .. basically the smell is horrible and trying not to breath in the bacteria is impossible and i think its dangerous ... so have them outside ... rinsed one of them and have it draining and just have the other out to dry ... it doesnt look good for it at this stage haha was worth a try but not worth spreading it to everything in the house

Toss out all contaminated stuff and start over. Don't waste your spores.
