I'd stick with silicone sealant, preferably rtv high temp, but the regular stuff works fine.

Most caulks will work fine, but here's some tips. Acrylic caulks use calcium carbonate as a filler to improve their stretchability, adhesion, tensile strength, and UV resistance. But the clear versions of acrylic caulks use a completely different filler, which doesn't perform as well, and makes them less desirable for inoc ports. Acrylics must evaporate moisture content as they dry. Since water content is usually 15% to 40%, they shrink a lot.
Silicone caulks cure as a chemical process and shrinkage is typically 3%. They can withstand 50% deformation and recover. Acrylics can stretch, but have little ability to return to their original shape. They often will crack and crumble if subjected to temperature cycles. All silicones, including the clear versions, can handle temp extremes of -65F to 400F. High temperature versions of silicone are not necessary in this case.
If you see 'siliconized' on the packaging of acrylic caulks, don't get too excited, since the percentage of silicone can be as low as .05% (that's less than a tenth of one percent). Methinks the manufacturer is being slightly deceitful, here. All in all, use whatever ya got to get 'er done, but if you need to buy a tube, get the cheapest silicone that you can find.
